INGREDIENTS

  • 2 ripe banana peels
  • 2 tablespoons plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh aloe vera gel

HOW TO MAKE IT

  1. Begin by thoroughly washing the ripe banana peels to remove any dirt or residue.
  2. Use a spoon or butter knife to scrape the inside of the banana peels to collect the pulp.
  3. Place the scraped banana peel pulp into a blender or food processor.
  4. Add plain yogurt, and fresh aloe vera gel to the blender.
  5. Blend the mixture until it is smooth and well combined.
  6. Transfer the mixture into a twisting tube applicator, such as a clean lip balm tube or an empty deodorant stick.
  7. Twist the tube to push the mixture up and fill it completely.
  8. Place the tube in the freezer and allow the mixture to freeze completely, preferably overnight.
  9. Once frozen, remove the tube from the freezer to use and place back in the freezer when done.

Rubbing ice on your face has numerous benefits. It reduces puffiness, soothes irritation, and enhances circulation, resulting in healthier-looking skin. Ice also minimizes the appearance of pores, refreshes tired skin, and primes it for better absorption of skincare products.

Additionally, it helps control oiliness by regulating sebum production, making it particularly beneficial for oily or combination skin types.

HOW TO USE

  1. To use, twist the bottom of the tube to push the frozen mask up slightly.
  2. Apply the mask directly onto your clean, dry face, using gentle circular motions.
  3. Leave the mask on for about 10-15 minutes to allow the nutrients to penetrate the skin.
  4. After the designated time, rinse off the mask with lukewarm water and pat your face dry.
  5. Follow up with your favorite moisturizer to lock in hydration.

The frequency of using the frozen banana peel face mask can depend on your skin type.

  • Normal to Dry Skin: You can use this mask 1-2 times per week to help hydrate and nourish the skin. Since dry skin tends to benefit from more moisture, using it twice a week can be beneficial.
  • Oily or Acne-Prone Skin: If you have oily or acne-prone skin, you may want to use this mask less frequently, such as once a week. Overusing masks on oily skin can potentially lead to over-moisturizing or clogged pores, exacerbating acne.
  • Sensitive Skin: For those with sensitive skin, it’s essential to be cautious with new skincare products. Start by using the mask once every 1-2 weeks and monitor your skin’s reaction. If you experience any irritation or discomfort, decrease the frequency or discontinue use.
  • Combination Skin: If you have combination skin with both oily and dry areas, you can use the mask once or twice a week, focusing on the areas that need it most. For example, you might apply the mask more often to dry patches while using it less frequently on oily areas.
