Ingredients

  • Fresh Grated Ginger 1-3 tbsps or enough to cover the size of your affected area.

Instructions

  • Place the grated ginger in the center of a thin cotton cloth or cheesecloth. Fold the cloth to create a small pouch, ensuring the ginger stays in place.
  • Lay the ginger-filled cloth directly on the inflamed area of your skin.
  • Use plastic wrap to hold the cloth in place and prevent the ginger’s moisture from escaping. Avoid wrapping too tightly.
  • Use skin-safe or medical tape to ensure the wrap stays in place. Avoid wrapping too tightly.
  • Leave the wrap on for up to an hour before bed or anytime during the day. If the heat becomes uncomfortable, remove the wrap immediately. If tolerable, you can keep it on all night.

Notes

While ginger is generally safe, it’s essential to:
  • Avoid using it on broken or irritated skin.
  • Test for skin sensitivity before applying ginger compresses or wraps.
  • Limit intake if you’re on blood-thinning medications or have gallbladder issues; consult your doctor first
Compared to over-the-counter anti-inflammatories, ginger provides relief without harmful side effects. It’s safe for most people when used in reasonable amounts and can be combined with other natural remedies like turmeric and honey for enhanced benefits.
