INGREDIENTS:

  • 12 oz dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp solid coconut oil
  • 1 drop peppermint oil
  • Chia seeds- amount optional
  • Hemp seeds- amount optional
  • Almond slivers- amount optional
  • A pinch of Celtic salt

EQUIPMENT

  • Small cooking pot or Medium Heatproof Bowl : For melting the chocolate and coconut oil.
  • Pot for Double Boiler: To use as the base for the double boiler method.
  • Spatula: For spreading the melted chocolate evenly on the baking sheet.
  • Baking Sheet or dish of your choice: Lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • Refrigerator: For chilling and setting the bark.
  • Knife or Hands: For breaking the hardened bark into pieces.

1. Prepare the Baking Sheet or other dish:

  • Line your dish of choice, a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. This will help prevent the bark from sticking and make cleanup easier.

You do not need to wait until this melts to add in the chocolate. The ingredients will melt together.

3. Melt the Chocolate:

  • In a medium heatproof bowl or pan, combine the dark chocolate chips and solid coconut oil.
  • Place the on the lowest setting possible to kep from burning the chocolate or place the bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) or use a microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.

Stir in the drop of peppermint oil, mixing thoroughly to ensure even distribution of the peppermint flavor.

5. Pour and Spread:

  • Pour the melted chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet or dish of your choice. Shake the pan or plate a little bit to flatten out the chocolate or use a spatula to spread it into an even layer about 1/4 inch thick.

  • Prepare the Ingredients:
